The opening ceremony of the "Liang Sicheng Academic Literature Exhibition" and the launching ceremony of the "Liang Sicheng Cup" overseas Chinese architectural design competition were held in the Overseas Chinese Museum, the capital of overseas Chinese. Wu Guojie, Lin Jiansheng, Tang Huihong, the municipal leaders, and Huang Zuhuang, the second-level inspector of the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, attended the event.

The exhibition of "pillars - Liang Sicheng, a generation of architectural master, academic literature exhibition" comprehensively displays Liang Sicheng's exploration and achievements in various periods through 212 pieces (groups) of exhibits such as photos, drawings, letters, and manuscripts, from which the audience can understand Liang Sicheng's great contribution to the field of Chinese architecture. The "Liang Sicheng Cup" overseas Chinese architectural design competition, which was launched synchronously on the same day, took "protection, inheritance and development" as the theme, and solicited works for the world. Participants can submit their contributions before the end of April 2023.

Lin Jiansheng, the deputy mayor, said in his speech that "pillars" are not only Chinese architectural vocabulary, but also a metaphor for people who shoulder the heavy responsibilities of the country, which is very consistent with Mr. Liang Sicheng's contributions and achievements. Our city, together with the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, has jointly organized this exhibition in Jiangmen. Through the display of valuable family images, letters, manuscripts and other important cultural relics, it comprehensively presents Mr. Liang Sicheng's outstanding contributions in the field of architecture, and demonstrates his unswerving feelings of home country, the focus and rigor of protecting ancient buildings, and the master's demeanor of dedication to education. At the same time, our city actively inherits and carries forward Mr. Liang Sicheng's great craftsmanship spirit in architectural design and cultural heritage protection, plans to hold the "Liang Sicheng Cup" architectural design competition for overseas Chinese hometown, mobilize the participation of domestic and foreign design talents, create urban and rural buildings that can retain the city's history and remember the deep homesickness, and further polish the brand of Jiangmen "Home of Chinese Architecture".
